Salutation to Stalwarts of DAV Mission

Towards the end of the 19th century, india lay in a socio-political ferment. This led Maharishi Dayanand to form the Arya Samaj for the revival of the Indian society intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. With a call,"Back to Vedas", he gae the guiding principle of the Arya Samaj, in which the foremost was the spread of education. He believed, and rightly so, that this woulrd lead to an awakening throughout the lenght and breadth of the country.

To realize the Maharishi Dayanand dream, a group of enlightened, dedicated and devoted followers with a deep sense of self denial, founded the Deyanand Anglo Vedic College Trust and Management Society which was registered in 1886. The society founded its first DAV school at Lahore in 1886 with Lala Hansraj (Later known as Mahatma Hansraj Ji) as the honorary  headmester. Thus started the movement which right from the beginning was led by visionaries and patriotic men like Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhai Parmanand,
Lala Dwarkadas, Principal Sen Das, Bakshi Ram Ratan, Bakshi Tak chand and other like minded people. It blossomed into a unique institution, spread all  over the country, emphasising the confluence of Indian thought and culture, with modern technolgy.

The Movement suffered a temporary setback due to the partition of the country. however the vigorous efforts of indomitable spirits like Principal Meher Chand, Lala Bal Raj and justice Maher Chand Mahajan put life back into it and rehabilitated the organization. It has continued to surge ahead under dynamic and inspiring personalities  srch as Dr.G.l.  Dutta, Lala Suraj Bhan, Professor ved Vyas, Shri Darbari Lal and Principal Gyan Prakesh Chopra Ji.

The DAV College Trust and Management Society takes Pride in the fact that it is the largest non-governmental educational organisation in India Managing a chain of about 700 institutions covering the entire spactrum of educational activity in the country. the DAV has estabilished a reputation for academic excellence and character building. Every year thousanda of students pass out of these institutions and  distinguish  themselvers in verious national and International  platforms . The society has, as its alumn,
distinguished, jurists, diplomats, doctors, engineers, scientists, educational, literary  figures and sportsman. The DAV  Alumni have made thir mark in every sphere of life.
